If you have ever known someone who has a problem with alcohol, you might find that there are many who become physical. According to most studies, it is said that more men than women who drink become violent, though there have been some women who have become violent when they drink. In many cases, you will find that you have to address both problems on an individual basis. For in many cases, when a person hits another, it’s not always about alcohol and aggression even if it does get worse when a person drinks. There are many people that find that they drink to get through the abuse. There are many who drink and do drugs to get away from the problem at hand. They find that when they excessively drink, they might become stronger or they just learn to tolerate the actions and not feel the repercussions as much as one might would if they were sober and living with someone who is an alcoholic. There are some men who actually force their victims to drink because of the fact that they have this control over them. Those women who have been abused by their husbands and have gone to alcohol and has become addicted report that they have felt guilty and ashamed. They have also said that feared that they will lose their children. They have reported that due to both of these, they have low self esteem. Many find that until a crisis arises, do they seek help.

Children of Alcoholic Parents and Abuse

It is said that the children of alcoholics get it worse than anyone else. The whole entire family is affected and many don’t think of that. Often times, the kids get the blunt hits due to the fact that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is estimated that one in five people will say that they were raised in a home where there was an alcoholic. It is normally the cause that children run away and do poorly in school. In many instances, many children have had to grow up faster due to alcoholic parents.
